*The Ballard "missing link" of the Burke Gilman Trail will have a Hearing on Friday, March 5. Michael Snyder, SPOKESPEOPLE Ride Leader extraordinaire, made a video and posted it on his Seattle Likes Bikes blog of what the missing link looks like from a bike's perspective and discusses why cyclists (and pedestrians) are eager to make the Burke-Gilman Trail complete: http://seattlelikesbikes.org/wordpress/?p=224

*Sat March 13 at 11 a.m. Cindy Riskin will lead Easy Riders  first round-trip ride of the season from Marymoor to Redhook Brewery on the Sammamish River Trail.

*Many of you wrote in support the Vulnerable User Bill Thank you! Unfortunately, while the Bill made it through the Judiciary Committee this year – further than it has gone in previous years – there was lots of higher priority legislation that kept the Vulnerable User Bill from a vote again this year. Cascade will try again next year and will be asking for your help again.

*In February nearly 30 Spokespeople rode around Lake Union. Wow! Saturday, April 3  Spokespeople will try a new ride for Community Preparedness! With ground support from the Seattle Office of Emergency Management  and Sustainable Wallingford Community Preparedness, Spokespeople will bike between all eight Wallingford communications hubs that will be set up in the event of an actual emergency. We'll stop at each hub to rest for a bit and discover more about how bicyclists can play a part in linking a resilient city together at any time. Local Wallingford merchants will support this ride too!

* Spokespeople West Seattle will have its first ride on Sunday, April 4 and will meet every 1st Sunday of the month at 10:00 am throughout the year. Check Cascade Rides or Sustainable West Seattle www.sustainablewestseattle.org/events for details.

*See some great urban bicycle videos at Street Films including a 4-minute video of a bike to work trip with Seattle’s Mayor Mike McGinn
